Well, Aeros fans, you've likely seen the last of Big John Scott at the Toyota Center. As was hinted at by the team's refusal to put him through waivers to send him down for the Aeros playoffs, Tom Lynn made his first move as acting GM of the Wild and locked Scotty down for another year at $550,000.
Per Lynn's comments in the Chron: "John proved he could play at the NHL level in his stint with the Wild at the end of the season. His next challenge will be to show he can not only play, but contribute and make a good team better. If he works as hard as he did for the last two seasons in Houston, I am confident he can make that transition."
Good for him. He worked hard in the off-season to improve his game and really was so much improved this season. He really impressed the folks up in St. Paul and now he's a bona fide NHLer. Congrats, Scotty.

Talk about living the dream!
The NHL was a far off dream for John Scott. I remember when he first can here and he wasn't even sure hockey was in his future after college.
