Brandon Rogers Is The AHL Man of The Year

Congratulations are in order for Aeros defensman Brandon Rogers who, today, was named the winner of Yanick Dupree Memorial Award as the 2008-09 AHL Man of the Year. The award is presented for outstanding contributions to the local community and charitable organizations.

Each team nominated a player for the award, so Rogers beat out 28 other players for the award.

Now, let's just hope that someone with the Aeros front office decides to tell him about his winning the award, and he doesn't have to wait to hear from one of his teammates.

(Oh, and isn't it nice to see that the Aeros are still able to win something?)

Congrats to Brandon! That's terrific. Nice to get some good news other than, "They're not out of the playoffs yet" for a change.

Congrats to Brandon!

I wonder what he gets?

The best things about these awards is the guys don't do it for an award, they just do it.

Brandon didn't even know he'd been nominated.
