Aeros vs San Antonio 4/10 -- Photos

The game started with the presentation of the AHL Man of the Year team award to Brandon Rogers as the Aeros selection for the honor. Brandon's parents made the trip from NH to present him with the award.
Brandon was also presented with the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award as the 2008-09 American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year. The award is presented annually to an AHL player for his outstanding contributions to his local community and charitable organizations. Rogers is the second Aeros to be honored with this award as Travis Roche won the award in 2001-2002.
Barry Brust had some big saves in this game and looked solid until he injured himself trying to make a save on a shot that never made it to the net in the third period.

Here you can see a nice save, early in the first period.
Matt Kassian brought the crowd to its feet as he hit Chris Frank with a crushing right that caused him to crumble to the ice. It was a very solid shot. Frank recovered fairly quickly but the fight was over as the linesmen moved in to break it up.
This is the first San Antonio goal by Chad Kolarik. Brust had no chance as he could not get over in time.
This was a huge save by Brust on a wide open David Spina. Brust got his right pad on it.
Kris Kolanos gets the Aeros on the board as he bangs home a puck off of a Benoit Pouliot shot.
Here is the goal celebration by Kolanos, it looked like there was plenty of glass pounding by all involved.
Kris Kolanos once again evens the score as he picks up loose puck at the side of the net and goes around the back to beat Karl Goehring on a wrap around and tie the score at 2.
Here is the game winner for San Antonio in OT on a shot from Chad Kolarik.
The crowd of 11,391 were loud and proud. This little one was my fan of the game.

Fred, did you get Kolanos pounding the boards after his first goal. He just seemed more emotional than normal after that goal.

There were bodies in front of me until the shot I posted in response to your question. He was plenty excited as was the whole team.

The 2nd goal to tie the game at 2 brought out a good celebration as well but there were lots of bodies.

Great pix, Fred, as usual. Many thanks for posting them so quickly. They serve as inspiration to all fans and players, I do hope ;).

Thanks for adding the Brandon pics. He's kinda glowing there, as he should be. And I missed the part with his parents completely. Cute family.
