Round 3, Game 3: If this net's a'rockin, don't come a'knockin.

Boy is that Schneider ever good. And how about that Manitoba defense? The Moose earned that 4-3 victory but not by a very large margin.

The Aeros were getting great chances, especially in the third, and just hitting posts, going a hair wide, getting blocked, etc. If they'd been able to play all three games this well, I'm not sure they'd be facing elimination on Wednesday.

I was happy to see Schaefer in net and I didn't have a single near-heart-attack all night. I guess I feel about Dimples the way a lot of folks do about Brusty. I dunno why Brusty-induced heart attack goaltending thrills me but Dimples' just makes me really tired, but that's how I roll. Anyway, Schaefer's presence made for a much more relaxing game for me.

I thought at least two of those he (or any other goalie) simply wasn't going to get. The first goal tipped in by Keane was ridiculous. No goalie is stopping that. The third by Grabner off that rapid-fire backdoor pass by Jaffray was nuts, too. Someone should have had Grabner by the belt loops dragging him out of the danger zone there.

As a goalie, I wouldn't have felt too bad about either of those. And the shorty... well... he probably should have had that, but I'm not about to put the blame a short-handed goal on the goalie.

The fourth, Schaef pretty much told John after the game that he had no explanation for it. It fluttered, hit the crossbar, and went in.

Thar she blows.

I was happy to see Love back in the line-up, even though he rather foolishly tried to take Schneider's head off and got a penalty for it. But I still get more irritated by penalites to Kolanos and Pouliot, who were both in the box at the same time at one point.

And I thought it was interesting for Love and Kassian to both be playing. It was like the band getting back together. Just good clean fun. Thanks for that, KC.

Great night for Rosa, too, with two points, and pretty pivotal to both the goals he assisted on. He's right up there among guys I love to watch play hockey. Just totally satisfying. And I mean that with all the innocence I can muster. Which isn't much.

Anyway, John and/or Andrew should be putting their two cents in later on. I'll circle back tomorrow with a media round-up.
