The Voice At Work

As most of you may know, our own Andrew Ferraro, when he's not blogging about exciting finishes, does PA work for the Rice Owls. So before Sunday afternoon's game, I snapped this photo of the voice at work. That's him in front of the angry looking guy in the baseball hat.

Look at that focus. Drew's a pro.

Andrew is a great PA guy! He also knows the game of hockey, certainly better than a certain someone. I think the Aeros need to take note.

P.S. -Andtew can call college volleyball , too.

There's nothing Drew can't do - and he often does it all in the same day. Everyone on your feat as I hear his voice singing the National Anthem!

(He's a super Dad too!)

Thanks for all the kind words! I have not announced a hockey game in several years ... I used to back up a guy in san Antonio after Tony Uminski had the gig. Now the rampage have a guy named Roland that does an absolute perfect job and never misses a game. The Aeros have two guys that love what they do, but, I think could do a little bit more prep work that would cut down on 90 percent of the things that fans complain about. I do think they both have improved this year. Sorry to chase rabbits with my comment!

Somehow I think, Andrew, you are waaaay more professional than our roving announcer and if we had someone like you behind the mike, we wouldn't need two guys. I remember when we just had CJ and he was terrific, as I'm certain you are.

Wow ... you guys are great! People are going to think I am writing all of these.

It's a fun gig. I also do the Rice Owls baseball and football games.

I have done a half dozen Astros games, two Rockets games, two Comets games and many UH events.

I was the Dynamo's first PA guy back in 2006, but now PA Steve for the Aeros handles those duties and does a good job for them.

I probably did 10-15 Rampage games over the Years, and their sound system is just incredible.

I love to announce, but I love writing about hockey just a little bit more. Dealing with the players at the AHL level is so very interesting.
