Meanwhile in Traverse City... Any reports on this one? I just checked the stats from here: http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/boxscore.html?gameid=1083426

Bryce Swan would be interesting to see in Houston. Had 11 goals and 5 assists in 13GP for the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL playoffs last season. Originally a 2nd round draft pick, 38th overall, for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in 2006. Had an assist in that game against the Blue Jackets.

Ok. Makes more sense now, Bryce Swan seems to have missed the whole of 2008-09 (?), those PO stats were from 2007-08.

I guess he was injured last year, but seems like an interesting character, apparently has twice declined an offer from the Ducks.
Does anybody have more info on Swan?

No news on the 'Swan', but here's a titbit for fight lovers: "our boy" Justin Falk has one fight under his straps already at Traverse... 3rd period 3:40 min with Blue Jacket Miller...is he on his way to become the NEW MitchL?

Swan was born in 1987. He was too old to play in the QMJHL last year. After declining two contract offers with the Ducks he had a free agent try out with the Red Wings at the beginning of the 2008-2009 season. He did not make the cut.

He has been playing Canadian University hockey for the StFX X-men. He has acceptable but not phenomenal stats at the CIS level.

Despite Swan's playoff stats for 2007-2008 (these are the stats FinnAir has in his first post) he had a terribly disappointing 20 year old season with the Halifax Mooseheads. He seemed to plateau at the age of 19.
