If the spectator reactions at Toyota Center are anything to go by a fight will always win.
So I don't really understand how the fight could have come out of the regular season only as the 8th seed.
Provocation in the morning.
Because when we ranked them, that photo didn't rock our socks as much as the others, though that moment was kinda jaw-dropping and we felt it warranted a spot.
And just to set expectations, because while the boys like to be fair and democratic and whatnot, I don't care about that stuff: There is no shortage of work behind this contest, between Fred's hard work and expense taking, sorting, editing, etc. the photos and Andrew's and my work setting up the contest (which has been surprisingly tedious... there is no "bracket contest" widget in Blogger).
So whining or kvetching or rabble-rousing won't be looked upon kindly, at least by me. And I carry the big stick. So play nice. *smiling sweetly*
I choose the fight
oh no, I should have remembered....
beware the goalies and their big sticks!

btw thank you for the effort to set this up and for the great photos.
Keeps me away from my online hockey addiction:

The hard part for me is going to be picking the photo on the quality of the photo (because let's face it they are all awesome!) and not on my personal memory of the event. I can't imagine the work you had to go through picking the ones for the brackets.
Jen, it was certainly a mixture of the two when selecting them, because you're right, Fred just doesn't give us bad pictures to choose from. And frankly, few of us are qualified to judge the photography. I think votes will more than likely come from a "which one moves me the most" kinda place.
We just want to end up with a really great photo at the end. Honestly, I don't think we can go wrong.
Much as I hate to admit it, the fight pic reminds me of a certain, strange, "I told you so" satisfaction I felt seeing Matt Foy self destruct for the last time in front of my very eyes.
I vote group hug/celebration
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Who cares about the rest of that stuff?
Yeah I know!
I was watching a fight and a frickin hockey game broke out!
Always so annoying!!!
(enter a whole page of sarcasm indicators here)
I guess you could just title the tournament as "The Best Aeros Moments From 2008-09 Captured on Film by Fred."
Wedding (inspired by THE word below)the awesome photos with what moves one the most, plus what one remembers, wishful thinking kinda things-all soo difficult. No really..am not kidding, this time!
Am currently shaking my head.. oyweh, what dilemmas, Mamma Mia! And many more to come, phew!
This has been a surprisingly hard (but enjoyable) task! I've been trying to leave all emotion out of it and look at the design, composition, and Fred's ability and instinct to capture a moment that I, as an amateur, would have a next-to-impossible time getting myself.
Again, it's the expressions that get me here. Love the look on Scott's face. Such intensity. Of course, I also like fights... but....
I was looking at all the pics again and just noticed that if you look directly behind Locker's skates, the reflection (or whatever ... ) makes it look like the ice is cracked and uneven. Cool! Just like Houston's streets ...
