A View From The Press Box: Aeros Embarrassed By Senators

Well that was ugly. Binghamton came out and kicked the Aeros collective asses by the score of 3-0, and if not for the play of Matt Hackett, it might have been worse. Much worse.

I'll be back later with some quotes and observations and a rant about the officiating, but there's one reason why the Aeros lost tonight: the Senators wanted this game much, much more than the Aeros wanted this game.

I think we're all pretty accustomed to this by now. The Aeros get that glimpse of the ultimate prize, then fall apart. And fall apart tonight the team did. Mike Yeo was asked after the game if there was any facet of the team's game with which he was pleased. His answer was a simple no. This was a complete breakdown of effort and composure.

The two teams go up against each other again tomorrow night with the series tied at 2-2 and coming back to Houston next week. The question being whether the series will be 3-2 Houston or 3-2 Binghamton.

That's it for now. I'll be back later, but you can use this to post to make whatever comments you so desire.

Bad effort by just about everyone. I hope Yeosy let them have it in the room after the game. They deserved it.

This is the only game of the series where the Aeros have let the B-Sens play their style, as opposed to forcing them to play the Aeros' style.

Much like Game 4 in Hamilton, and I'm afraid with the same effect. The B-Sens have the momentum in the series now, the know they can win, they know that they can play their game. When the B-Sens play their game, they win. When they play our style, we usually win.

My guess is this is coming back to Houston 3-2 B-Sens. It will take a big effort Saturday to reverse the momentum the B-Sens acquired tonight.

Dang.

Whoever wins Saturday night will win the series. I don't see either team sweeping the last two games in Houston. It is very troubling that Binghamton wanted Game 4 so much more than the Aeros. After the Hamilton series, you would think the Aeros would learn to raise their game when they have a series lead.

Great night in downtown Bingo after the game, saw all the AHL braintrust enjoying a few cold ones at Dillengers...First game we really dominated from start to finish, gotta admit the "You Cant Hackett " chant was creative, however the wave was annoying and i thought it left in the 80's, although some people still might say it is the 80's in Binghamton.....Like i said on an earlier thread, this is going 7 games, thats just the way we roll....

That was a very ugly game to watch. Hackett can't carry the team and that was what he tried and failed to do tonight. They had no offence at all, they won the opening faceoff and gave the puck to the B-Sens and that was it. They had better come out with their A+ plus some tomorrow or watch out!!!!
