With Carter Hutton, the Rockford IceHogs just don't lose any more, and the Lake Erie Monsters have become a force recently. And we have a new No. 1 this week with Toronto taking over on top as the OKC Barons, a team that recently looked to have no flaws, has been sputtering around for the better part of three weeks.
Here comes Rochester, too. David Leggio took the No. 1 goalie spot away from Drew MacIntyre and hasn't looked back. That team has a light schedule down the road and may benefit from all the true Western teams beating up on each other.
Abbotsford is slumping again, but they own the Aeros this year and will probably score four goals in the first period Tuesday night at Toyota Center. The Aeros to the Heat are like the Grand Rapids Griffins to the Aeros: When you need a win, just circle that game on the schedule.
I really struggled putting Chicago ahead of the Rampage. I think San Antonio might be the better overall team, so these two I will really watch closely the week. I just thought the Wolves had the better week, so I gave them the nod.
John Torchetti told us Sunday that he is not doing ANY scoreboard watching. Even though that is hard to believe, I almost believe it with him. It'll ALL be different tomorrow, so why bother?
Maybe that is why he still has all his hair.

Regarding the photo....what makes me sad is that Patrick just can't seem to carve out a place in the NHL. If he is going to spend more time in the AHL, I wish it was with the Aeros.
The lease is up? Is this why Minnesota's not doing anything to improve the team because they don't care because they know they're going to move to the team to Des Moines next season?
Whoa ... calm down. LOL. The five-year lease is up after this season, but I'd be really surprised if it wasn't renewed by June 1.

I'm not sure that maturity is what is killing the Ads so much as injuries. Losing van Guilder and Latta back in February hurt, and now Puustinen in hurt hinders an already anemic offense. I liken them to the Aeros I saw earlier this season... solid goaltending, but no offense.
POS helps Peoria with offense, but their defense is still horrid. Question is whether POS can maintain his torrid pace and negate Peoria's defensive deficiencies.
Good news. I have been told that the Aeros have a lease THROUGH next season.
The comment about the team not caring about player personnel so they can just pack up and move was baseless.
What good does that do for anyone, including the players? Making sure the Wild have players that are ready to contribute at a moments (or season's) notice IS what the Aeros are all about.
David Burke's job is to make sure you have a good time watching the players that are here.
Neither entity benefits from anyone tanking.
And again, with one more guaranteed year, there is plenty of time to work on a new deal.
Why would the Wild WANT to move the Aeros? Look at the crowds, look at the team's relative success over the years and Houston has an airport that can get a player to just about any major city in North America by noon.
Everyone benefits with the Aeros in Houston. The Wild, hockey fans in Houston and the Toyota Center, which needs the Aeros to fill up to 50 dates every season.
