It's significant in that they want to get something done so they can start a normal, 82-game season on Nov. 2.
There is still quite a bit to get worked out, but finally, there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

There is no way the season gets wiped out, now. I'd really be surprised if they don't start on 11/2 at this point.

Maybe instead of considering this to be day 33 of the lockout, we should start thinking of it as year 1 of the lockout.
Maybe next year not only no NHL, but no AHL, either.
